Birmingham Tunnels
This contract involved the installation of 26,000m2 of Fendolite MII fire protection system to line Birmingham’s major road tunnels.
As the tunnels were fully closed for an eight-week period and a twenty-four hour working day programme was implemented, a streamlined and efficient supply chain for a fast turnaround of product was paramount for the project to complete on schedule.
Fixings Plus supplied specially manufactured lengths of MKT N-K A4 and MKT N A4 Nail Anchors designed to accommodate the system’s fixing requirements, and offering a speedy installation process. Over a quarter of a million anchors were manufactured and delivered to site ahead of schedule, enabling the installation to complete comfortably within programme.
On-going anchor testing was undertaken by Fixings Plus both prior to and during the project to qualify required design loadings.
